IRX Therapeutics' mission is to discover and commercialize drugs that stimulate a coordinated TH1-specific cellular immune response to treat human diseases. This immune response is essential for the eradication of most viruses and tumors, and relies on the effective functioning of dendritic cells, macrophages, and T-cells.

Currently, there is a lack of drugs that preferentially stimulate the TH1-specific cellular immune response. IRX Therapeutics has two development programs designed to fill this void: Cancer and Viral disease treatments. The overall goal of these programs is to increase survival rates and improve quality of life for patients who suffer from these diseases.

The key products in development include:
  • IRX-2 (citoplurikin): The company's anti-cancer candidate; IRX-2 is a powerful stimulant of the cellular immune system comprised of a uniform, well-defined set of naturally-derived cytokines.
  • MIMP: The company's cellular stimulant; MIMP has broad applicability in the treatment and prevention of viral diseases, such as influenza, hepatitis, HIV, and herpes.
  • IRX-3: A combination of IRX-2 and an immunostimulatory peptide; IRX-3 is targeted at patients with severe immune deficiency resulting from cancer, HIV, or other diseases.
