FREDERICK G. HAYDEN, MD, FACP is a recognized world leader in the field of infectious diseases and has published and lectured extensively in this area. Dr. Hayden received the James H. Nakano Citation in 1996 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Dr. Hayden is currently the Stuart S. Richardson Professor of Clinical Virology in Internal Medicine and Professor of Internal Medicine and Pathology at the University of Virginia Medical School. He is also Associate Director, Clinical Microbiology Laboratory (Virology) at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center and Associate Director, Respiratory Disease Study Unit, The Center for the Prevention of Disease and Injury at the University of Virginia.

Dr. Hayden holds a BA from Stanford University and an MD from Stanford University School of Medicine.
