HOWARD H. STEVENSON was elected to the IRX Therapeutics Board of Directors in March 2001. He is currently the Sarofim-Rock Professor of Business Administration at Harvard University, Graduate School of Business Administration.

The Sarofim-Rock Chair was established to provide a continuing base for research and teaching in the field of entrepreneurship and Dr. Stevenson is its first incumbent. Dr. Stevenson is also Senior Associate Dean, Director of External Relations. He was Senior Associate Dean, Director of Financial and Information Systems from 1991 to 1994 and has also served as Chair of the Latin American Faculty Advisory Group.

Prior to his reappointment to the Harvard faculty, Dr. Stevenson was Vice President of Finance and Administration and a member of the Board of Directors at Preco Corporation, a large privately held manufacturing company.

In addition, he had previously served as Vice President of Simmons Associates, a small investment banking firm specializing in venture financing.

Prior to 1978, he held various academic appointments at Harvard University, specializing in Real Property Asset and General Management.

He is currently a director at Bessemer Securities Corporation, Camp Dresser & McKee Inc., Landmark Communications, and the Baupost Group, Inc., a company he founded. He received his BS in Mathematics, with distinction, from Stanford, his MBA, with high distinction, and his DBA from Harvard University.
